Board of Directors
Tiffany M deSousa, M.A. – Board Chairperson
I am a former foster child, adopted youth, and a runaway teenager. When I needed help, local Ocean County resources and supports helped me. Safe Haven is more than just shelter; it is an opportunity to gain insight, perspective, skills, and recommit to creating the best possible future.
Because of support, I am now a Child Advocacy and Policy, M.A. and my Team is restoring Safe Haven access and Mental Health Services for young people 10 to 19 years of age.
Lisa Scala, B.A. – Board Treasurer
I joined CLCL because of my commitment to serve vulnerable youth and my strong belief that young people can thrive when provided with the right support.
I hope to make CLCL a model for youth programs and serve as many young people as possible.
Kelsey Wetmore, LPC, LCADC
I am a dedicated individual with 10+ years of experience working in the field of mental health.
I am committed to creating positive impacts and fostering growth in both children and communities.
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), and a Licensed Clinical Alcohol and Drug Counselor (LCADC) in the state of New Jersey.
Jennifer Santa Maria, M.Ed., M.A.Ed.
I have been an advocate and teacher for disadvantaged youth since my high school years.
I have spoken at several Art Educators of New Jersey Conventions, continue to host and participate in benefits and art shows in the community, and I am a small business owner of a mobile visiting arts program, Flame Tip Studio LLC. I love to bring art into artless places, serving the youth so they can find and confidently share their voice. I am thrilled and honored to share my vision for a better community with the whole board of Choose Love. Celebrate Life.

Former Board Members
Leslie Brower, B.A. – Board Secretary (Founder 12/30/2023 – 11/14/2024)
I have 13 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector. I developed a strong sense of devotion for the nonprofit sector when I began working as a residential youth counselor in 2006.
As a residential counselor, I worked closely with the teen population, ran a parent’s support group, was selected to be part of the leadership team, and implemented an Arts group.
Kathleen DeLorme, B.A. (Founder 12/30/2023 -10/24/2024)
I have over 25 years of experience in the field of social service and mental health. I have a strong passion for helping people and advocating for people who have trouble advocating for themselves. I find I’m drawn to people who are marginalized, thrown away, forgotten about and generally mistreated.
