I have 13 years of experience working in the nonprofit sector. I developed a strong sense of devotion for the nonprofit sector when I began working as a residential youth counselor in 2006.
As a residential counselor, I worked closely with the teen population, ran a parent’s support group, was selected to be part of the leadership team, and implemented an Arts group as a way for youth to creatively express their emotions, develop self-awareness, and raise self-esteem through artistic exercises. I also created and curated an annual Art Show to showcase the artwork of the youth.
With a B.A. in Fine Arts from Rosemont College, I also received certification in Art Therapy and went on to initiate a Creative Expressions Group for teens, facilitating art therapy exercises as a medium to enable clients to communicate in a safe environment and to reflect on emotional issues and gain confidence and self-awareness.
I bring my organizational skills and experience of working in a strong team concept environment to the Board of Directors as Board Secretary for the Choose love. Celebrate life. A Foundation for Youth and Families, Inc. Nonprofits seek to improve the quality of life for our community through awareness, education, and advocacy. I have a strong belief that we were all put on this Earth to help others, breaking the barriers of diversity, equality, inclusion, and accessibility.
