Strength through connection
Pilot Program Phase
Phase 2 of a three‑part Pilot Program
CTS advances pilot goals by reducing parental stress, establishing a sense of community, increasing protective family experiences, and creating clear pathways from prevention programs to clinical and social services.
Phase 1
Launched with Community Care Connection (CCC) Line, creating low‑barrier entry points, and providing donation site referrals specific to the needs of callers, designed to help with hard-to-find items like diapers, pet food, free vision, health, and mental health care, utility assistance, and population-specific resources like those designed for veterans or people with HIV.
Phase 2
Community Threads Store, which converts that trust into tangible supports while strengthening pathways to care.
Phase 3
Establish a referral and delivery system, allowing the CCC “Warm Line” to act as a substitute for hotline reports when only tangible items are needed; this will benefit not just families, but elderly, disabled, veterans, young adults, and more.

Stability now, safety tomorrow
Impact and Outcomes
-
Prevention focus — providing material supports reduces household instability and creates opportunities for early connection to services that prevent crises.
-
Crisis prevention is more important than ever as there is no emergency youth shelter for young people anywhere across the tri-county Jersey Shore. Given the lack of Safe Haven spaces, preventing runaway and homeless youth is even more critical.
Donate Items and Support

We accept:
Clean, gently used clothing; new underwear, bras, swimsuits, and socks; unopened hygiene products; backpacks; linens; and small household items; accessories, cleaning supplies, kids' items, and more. Seasonal donations are especially helpful during back‑to‑school and winter months.
Donation guidelines:
Items must be clean and functional. We cannot accept large furniture, expired products, or recalled items. Large or bulk donations are accepted by appointment.
Community-powered support
Volunteer and Partnership Opportunities
- Volunteer roles: sort and size donations, staff the store, assist shoppers, provide intake and navigation support, and help with special events; train to become a CCC Line phone operator and CTS intake coordinator.
-
Partner roles: local businesses and faith groups can sponsor, donate, or host item-specific drives; schools can plan for free holiday shopping options for their students; and agencies can arrange referral visits and group pickups.
-
Collaborative roles: local nonprofits can coordinate with the CTS to ensure the populations they serve have access to these crucial resources.
