Social Media and Public Relations Intern

Position Detail

  • Reports To:  Marketing and Communications Lead / Program Director

  • Location:  Hybrid (remote + limited on-site hours)

Position Summary:

The Social Media and Public Relations Intern supports CLCL’s communications strategy by creating content, managing platforms, and amplifying the organization’s mission across multiple channels. This internship offers hands-on experience in nonprofit communications, event promotion, and public relations writing, while contributing to CLCL’s trauma-informed commitment to fostering safe, inclusive, and resilient community spaces.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Create and schedule posts across CLCL social media accounts (Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, X, YouTube).
  • Promote events such as Free Family Fun Nights and community drives.
  • Assist with photography, videography, and media storytelling at events.
  • Draft PR materials, press releases, and announcements.
  • Maintain analytics reports to track social engagement and growth.
  • Develop graphics, flyers, and promotional materials for events and fundraisers.
  • Collaborate with the Outreach Intern to highlight partnerships and sponsors.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of social media platforms and content creation.
  • Basic graphic design (Canva, Adobe Express preferred).
  • Strong writing and editing abilities.
  • Creativity and storytelling ability.

Internship Details:

  • Commitment: 10–15 hours per week (flexible scheduling, occasional evenings/weekends for events).
  • Duration: Semester-based or summer placement (with potential extension).
  • Compensation: Unpaid; course credit or professional development opportunities available.
